Artist, fisherman, boat captain... Cricket grew up on a small island, and has used and maintained boats since she was just 4 years old. She currently holds a 6 passenger captain’s license. She was the first female yard employee at Burr Brothers Boatyard in the 70's. She has singlehanded from Nova Scotia to Key West, crewed in Labrador, Newfoundland and Bermuda. Cricket co-founded The Landing School with John Burgess and taught wooden boat building. She holds an MS in Resource Economics from the University of New Hampshire.  Cricket and her husband Chris Tupper have two grown children. She has enjoyed a long art career (mostly marine subjects), has served as Captain of Cundy's Harbor Ambulance Service, seabird island caretaker for National Audubon, and works as a commercial fisherman, both as crew and captain. While she has retired from EMS and Audubon, Cricket still fishes, occasionally paints, and enjoys cruising charters in new places.
