health and safety
Keeping students healthy and safe is a top priority at The Landing School.
The Landing School takes the safety of our students and visitors seriously. Shops are equipped with safety equipment including safety goggles and vents in areas where fumes may be present and students are trained thoroughly before they use tools.
The Landing School Policy on Security and Dignity
The Landing School is also committed to providing a safe environment that promotes the dignity and worth of each member of the community. In complying with the letter and spirit of applicable laws and in pursuing its own goals of pluralism, the Landing School does not discriminate on the grounds of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, including transgender status and gender expression, national origin, citizenship status, age, disability, genetic information or veteran status in employment, education, and all other programs and activities. For this reason, the Landing School will not tolerate discrimination, discriminatory harassment, sexual assault and other sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, or retaliation in any form.
Although students and employees are not required to take or attend training in violence prevention, the Landing School believes that the promotion of good listening and communication skills and common courtesy are essential facets of healthy community behavior. Therefore, each year, all students and employees are invited and encouraged to attend a communications workshop exploring these topics and others with the goal of keeping the Landing School an example of a dignified and respectful academic community.
