Position Summary:
Full time Yacht Design and CNC Operator position available. Come join one of the premier powerboat design firms in the Southeast.
Rhodes Yacht Design is a well-established powerhouse in powerboat design. We design, from the ground up, for Sportsman Boats, Freeman Boatworks, Scarborough Boatworks, Scout Boats & Xcelerator Boatworks, to name a few. Most of our projects are full product development where you can see your work go from the computer to 5x machining to the real product. Imagine driving down the road, and every other boat on a trailer you see, you helped design. We have refined our process so projects are scheduled out for years and you know what you will be working on, with very few surprises. All production projects are new design on the cutting edge of the powerboat market. You will be involved in confidential product development that once released will shape the industry. And, in addition, we work for a few custom builders to keep the Carolina sportfish aesthetic always present.
Our work environment is small - you would be one of 3 designers with the company having a total of 5 employees. Since work environment is critical to us, we have a nice new office with an adjoining shop that was brand new in 2018. In addition, we have been doing this for a long time, so you would potentially be learning from some of the best 3d modelers in the industry, and our environment is perfect to absorb all aspects of the design and cnc process. Since we are small, your tasks will vary - keeping variety in your workload.

Experience in Rhino is critical and experience in RhinoCam is beneficial. Tasks will include full detailed 3d modeling yacht design, cnc programming and monitoring a 3 axis CNC machine. Compensation is more than competitive. Thank you!
