Position Title: Boatyard Technician
Compensation/Rate: Compensation based in experience. $15 - $30/hour
Job Description: Koehler Kraft has an immediate job opening for a boat yard technician at our San Diego facility. We are looking for an all around boatyard tech who has experience working in a boatyard repairing recreational boats. Our facility is on Shelter Island in the heart of the yachting community.
Job Tasks:
- Hauling and launching boats with a crane and marine railway
- Pressure washing
- General marine repairs (ex. replacing thru-hulls, plumbing, cutlass bearings, electrical, etc.)
- Assist in boatbuilding tasks
- Bottom painting
- Sanding
Requirements:
- 1+ years working in a boatyard (or equivalent).
- The ability to lift heavy items.
- Able to work on hands and knees for long periods of time.
- Must own tools needed for the job OR willing to purchase tools as needed (ie. Drill, grinder, shop vac, hand tools, etc).
- A strong work ethic.
- Willing to learn on the job AND on your own time.
- Make the commitment to the disciplines of your trade and hone skills to be a member of a successful team.
