Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced captain to join our team. The ideal Candidate will be responsible for operating our 38’ ketch rigged sailboat, ensuring the safety of all passengers, crew, and the boat, while providing an exceptional sailing experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a 38’ sailboat confidently and safely in various weather conditions.
- Conduct pre-sailing checks and maintenance routines to ensure the boat is in good working condition
for every trip.
- Plan sailing routes based on weather conditions and guest preferences.
- Provide a briefing to guests before departure, including safety procedures, and onboard amenities. - Ensure the safety and comfort of all guests and crew members at all times throughout the sail.
- Delivery a high quality sailing experience to all guests and be personable and engaging.
- Handle any onboard emergencies calmly and efficiently, following established safety protocols
- Maintain logs and records
Requirements:
- Valid Captains License (USCG 50+ Ton Masters License) with a clean record.
- Proven experience in sailing and operaIng a sailboat of similar size, with references.
- Strong working knowledge of maritime laws, navigation, and weather forecasting.
- exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with guests and crew. - Ability to work flexible hours.
- First Aid and CPR certifications must be valid.
- A passion for sailing and a commitment to providing excellent guests experience.
- Must complete a pre-employment drug test
