Safe Harbor Great Island (Harpswell, ME)
Safe Harbor Zahnisers (Solomons, MD)
Job Summary: The Technician (Carpentry) will be responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Assisting supervisor with structural design, planning, layout, and installation
Conduct repair work and installation doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required
Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials
Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment
Compliance with local building codes, and health and safety regulations
Must possess own tools
Availability to work overtime in order to meet deadlines
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Technical school training preferred
Basic math skills required, advanced math skills preferred
Experience reading, understanding and following construction drawings and procedures preferred
Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
Must carry own tools
Ability to work in confined spaces
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Minimum Soft Skill Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to provide exceptional customer service and an understanding of customers’ needs
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills while working both independently and within a team context
Organizational skills are a must
Demonstrates ability to prioritize and work unsupervised
Having the willingness and dedication to focus on completing daily/weekly goals
