Position Title: Marine Electrician
Compensation/Rate: $15-20/hour
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Beaufort, NC
Responsibilities:
Interpret mechanical line drawings
Fabricate and install electrical systems in hull
Coordinate with other crafts to facilitate efficient construction
Nurture relationship with Foreman and Project Manager
Meet installation deadlines
Manage time within schedule
Provide own tools to accomplish tasks
Maintain own tools
Test, troubleshoot, and prove function of installed systems, which include: generators, switchboards, shore tie connections, lighting, motors, fans, load sharing, controls, auxiliary systems, appliances, other systems desired by owner
Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of electrical theory and standards
Working knowledge of ABYC standards and applicable OSHA and US Coast Guard standards
Working knowledge of electric generations systems
Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Recognize and voice conflicts in proposed versus actual installation and offer solutions to such conflicts
Training
High school diploma/GED
Valid driver’s license
2 years technical or community college OR 2 years OTJ OR 2 years related work experience in mechanical or electrical engineering
