Position Title: Sailboat Rigger

Position Summary: Riggers effectively and efficiently install, maintain, repair, and replace sailboat rigging and sail systems. Must be mechanically inclined and experienced in use of basic hand tools, air tools and electric power tools. In addition, we are seeking an applicant with experience operating a rough-terrain crane.

Job Description:
Unstep and step masts
Assemble and disassemble spars
Tune standing rigging
Connect and troubleshoot mast lights and wiring Install booms, sails, running rigging
Prepare sailboats to safely sail
Splice lines, service winches and furling systems-both manual and electrical/hydraulic.
Service sailboat steering systems and deck hardware
Wax and clean spars Inspect and estimate repairs
Must possess own tools Availability to work overtime in order to meet deadlines
Technical and Physical Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Sailing knowledge preferred
Hoisting/Crane Operator experience preferred
Previous experience preferred, willing to train ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred
Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
Must carry own tools
Familiarity with boats and nomenclature
Ability to lift 100 pounds Ability to work in all weather conditions
Basic boat handling skills preferred
Ability to hang, move, twist, and climb with loads
Must be able to go aloft
