Job Description: Composite Technician Job Description:

We are seeking creative and responsible technicians to join our growing team, keen to be part of creating technically challenging and innovate vessels. You will be expected to read plans and detailed work instructions, prepare tooling, fabricate composite parts (both prepreg and infused carbon/foam sandwich), oversee the curing at elevated temperature, and complete all necessary recording of relevant QA data. A broad knowledge of composite manufacturing would be ideal, although the processes used at Daedalus are a level above standard boatbuilding. While experience with prepreg and infusion techniques is preferred, we are set up to provide necessary training to the right candidate. The candidate should relocate in North Carolina if outside the state.

Key Attributes and Qualifications:

  • Education should be at least to High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED).

  • A minimum of one year of experience with composite materials is expected.

  • The role will involve use of hand and power tools. You should be able to demonstrate familiarity with common boatbuilding tools and understand how to operate these safely.

  • This is a physical job, in an industrial environment. The candidate should be capable of working on their feet for the entire shift period and able to lift/carry up to 50lb load.

  • An ability to use appropriate instrumentation to make simple measurements (length, thickness, weight) in both metric and imperial units is essential.

  • The nature of the materials and processes employed at Daedalus Yachts demands attention to detail. This is not a "chop shop"!!
