Position Title: Head Instructor for Junior Sailing Program
Compensation/Rate: $18-$20/hr. Mid-June through the end of August
Location: Kennebunkport, ME
Position Summary:
The Head Instructor will teach children (aged 7-16) proper use of an Opti or 420 club boats during a 3 or 4 hour sailing class. The Head Instructor will lead a fun class (with certified instructors) to teach the basics of sailing, progressing through race tactics, with a strong emphasis on water safety. Most classes have 8-10 students. There are 4 levels of instruction: Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
Requirements:
-CPR/First Aid Certification
-Proper handling of power boats and sailboats
-Ability to maintain a safe and fun environment
-Collaborate with other instructors to provide positive coaching to improve sailing technique for all students
-Strong communication skills
-Effective leadership skills
