Position Summary:

BoatRx is a specialized battery-powered air conditioning company. We design and install high-efficiency HVAC, lithium battery, and energy-generating devices on modern yachts BIG and small!

We are based in Boston and commonly travel to lots of cool boatyards throughout New England and the Chesapeake Bay.

Do you love to know how things work? Do you have experience working with hand tools and power tools? Are you comfortable working in tight spaces? We are looking for an energetic person who enjoys traveling for work and doesn't mind getting their hands dirty but keeps their work looking clean!

In the yachting world, a properly designed and installed mechanical system should look like a work of art! Learn this unique trade with us, and you'll earn skills that translate into many parts of life.

BoatRx is one of the few hands-on startup businesses in the marine industry that dares to think differently about generating and consuming energy onboard high-end yachts. We are a tight-knit crew. We're really good at what we do, and we love doing it. We will train you!

We will be hiring a field technician helper to begin in November 2022. This is a full-time salaried position. Entry-level pay starts at $36k/year. Expect a higher salary if you have experience. Must have driver's license. Our headquarters is in Boston, but you should expect to stay in hotels and nice air bnb’s about 60% of the time. Travel and lodging is covered. We have fun on the road!

Job responsibilities:
Planning and packing for installations.
Running wire and plumbing through boats.
Installing thru-hull fittings.
Mounting batteries, inverters, transformers, controls etc.
Post-installation clean up.
Driving work van to the installation site.
Carrying heavy equipment in and out of boats/shop.
General worksite cleanliness.
System troubleshooting and fault finding.
Evacuating and charging HVAC systems with refrigerant.
Remote support of client issues.
At-home studying of core electrical and HVAC topics.
Workshop organization
Shipping and receiving of parts and equipment
Parts inventory
