Position Title (1 of 4): Composite Technician

Location: Damariscotta, ME

Compensation/Rate: $20 +

Position Summary:
Hodgdon Yachts is searching for an experienced composite technician with boat construction knowledge and experience to join our team at our Damariscotta location building world class Tenders.

Technicians are responsible for building composite components using appropriate layup techniques and have working knowledge of infusion techniques.

Duties include, material lay-up and installation, core fitting and placement, basic placement knowledge of vacuum and feed lines. Trimming and fitting completed composite components, grinding and sanding. Must be able to work with all shop tools, equipment and chemicals associated with composite construction.

Experience includes working with boat building, composites as well as basic math, carpentry and staging skills.

Position Title (2 of 4): Marine Finisher/Painter

Location: Damariscotta, ME

Compensation/Rate: $20 +

Position Summary:

A Marine Finisher is responsible for all surface preparations and coating of the vessel, may include fairing, sanding, painting, spraying and other finishing procedure. Finishing may involve epoxy, linear polyurethanes and other marine finish products. A Finisher may also assist with preparing estimates, including interacting with Service Managers and/or Customers.

Five years’ experience in the marine finishing industry is preferred but may be substituted for experience in auto body shop finishing. The applicant must be familiar with brush and spray applications, have high quality standards and pay attention to detail. The applicant must have a keen understanding of the safety procedures, have good communication skills and be a team player.

A Marine Finisher must also possess basic mathematic skills, must be able to read and understand paint mixing formulas, have flexibility to work in standing, squatting or kneeling position, work in small confined spaces, as well as reaching overhead with some twisting and bending, while performing the tasks described above. Finisher must not have a fear of heights and must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs.

Position Title (3 of 4): Heavy Equipment Operator

Location: Southport, ME

Compensation/Rate: Based on experience

Position Summary:

Responsible all aspects of marine equipment operation and general boat yard labor including, launching and hauling of power boats, sail boats and safe and proper use of all equipment. Experience preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
 Launching and hauling power and sail boats up to 70’ and/or 50 tons.
 Launching and hauling power and sail boats up to 15,000# using hydraulic lift.
 Fork truck operation.
 Towing and moving vessels over land using hydraulic trailer.
 Performing the basic maintenance/service requirements of yard machinery.
 Supporting the service department during spring commissioning and fall decommissioning.

Position Title (4 of 4): Seasonal Dock Hands

Location: Southport, ME

Compensation/Rate: Based on experience

Position Summary:

Our dockhands are asked to perform a wide variety of dock duties which includes but is not limited to assisting customers moving their boats and gear around the marina and moorings and pumping fuel for customers. Other duties may include washing boats, pumping holding tanks, keeping the docks clean and orderly.

Minimal requirements include excellent customer service skills and boat handling experience.
