Position Title: Prototype Technician Lead
Compensation/Rate: $24+ depending on level of experience
Location: Zepherhills, FL
Position Summary:
Title: Prototype Technician Lead
Overview: The Prototype Technician will perform a variety of R&D tasks including plug/molding building, tooling maintenance, jig creation, and design mockups.
Reports to: Product Development Supervisor
Works closely with: Tooling Specialists, Production, Engineers
Compensation: $24+ depending on level of experience

RESPONSIBILITIES
● Turn build drawings into fully realized plugs and molds
● Take roughed out plugs/molds and bring them to Class-A finish suitable for production tooling
● Perform tooling maintenance throughout entire product line
● Work with supervisors to set schedules and provide project updates
● Track material usage, time allocation, and forecast for weekly material orders
● Develop and adhere to company and department standards
IDEAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
● Experience building plugs & molds for production tooling
● Experience with mold maintenance, repair, and prep for lamination
● Experience with fiberglass lamination – hand layup (infusion a plus)
● A good understanding of the tools and materials used in plug/mold building
● Ability to read and understand shop drawings
● Ability to use general shop tools – hand, power, pneumatic, specifically relating to finishing
● Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and lift objects up to 50lbs on a repetitive basis, required
