Position Title: Rising Tide Educator

Compensation/Rate: 31-38, 000 per year

Job Description: CBMM’s Rising Tide program teaches students basic boatbuilding skills in a welcoming, relaxed environment. The program works to inspire participants to develop a sense of self-confidence and pride, and facilitate mentorships that provide guidance and support. Students of the program will be encouraged to become more academically prepared to achieve long-term success, whether on a college track or vocational emphasis, having gained skills in mathematics, engineering, team building, and project management.

CBMM seeks an educator with experience in wooden boat building or related career technology field. Candidates must have an interest in working with middle school students in a mentorship role. Organizational, problem-solving and leadership skills are essential, with excellent oral communication skills for interaction and program promotion to CBMM visitors and the general public. Knowledge and interest in historic Chesapeake Bay craft and the traditional skills and techniques used in their construction, as well as environmental, arts, and or history education preferred. Lifeguard, kayak instructor, and/or sailing instructor certification a plus. This is a full time, non-exempt position with excellent benefits.

Dependent upon experience, compensation for this position will range from $31-$38K annually.
