Job description: Jim Ledger was the recipient of the 2008 Hanley Broadaxe award for his restoration of a Cape Cod catboat. Jim recently passed away, leaving behind an unfinished boat at his home on Long Island.
The boat is fully framed, but not yet fully planked. The cabin roof beams are installed but not covered. The interior is unfinished. The cockpit is unfinished. The mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are unfinished.
We're looking for builders who want to contribute to this project through a series of developments. The first project will be to finish the planking on the bottom of the boat. Subsequent projects will address the other incomplete tasks mentioned above.
We will provide compensation on an hourly basis. A builder may even take equity in the project, so as to receive a portion of the revenue at the project's final sale.
