Position Title: Boat Painter/Varnisher/Fiberglasser
Compensation/Rate: $21.00 to $25.00 hourly
Location: Belmont, ME
Position Summary:
Belmont Boatworks is seeking a Painter/Varnisher
This is a paint department position, included but not limited to prepping, filling, fairing, painting and polishing, both interiors and exteriors to all types and sizes of power and sailing vessels. Ideal candidate will also have experience with gelcoat and fiberglass repairs prior to paint work.

Some duties of this position include but are not limited to…
- Checking and inspecting boats & evaluating the work required
- Making sure proper paint colors are used as per customer requests
- Removing old paint, sanding, prepping, taping surfaces
- Using tenting & proper ground cover to meet DEP requirements
- Maintaining quality and standards of work
- Completing all tasks as assigned by Paint Manager
- Appropriate use of paint brushes, thinner, other tools & equipment
- Proper cleanup of paint areas, brushes & tools
Skills & Education Specifications:
- Ability to work with different materials & mediums on different surfaces
- Ability to operate a variety of simple and complex tools
- Manual dexterity; physical stamina; ability to work long hours if required
- Ability to effectively manage time, efficiency and quality of work
- Self-motivated
- Must be safety-conscience and safety-oriented to avoid injury on the job-using respirators, Tyvek suits & other safety gear as necessary
- Adequate skill through prior work experience, 1 - 2 year minimum
