Position Summary:
With our Office & Boatyard located on the Marina in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, The Engineering Design Team provides in-house design expertise, development and support for a Semi-Custom Aluminum Boat Builder. from Bristol Bay Gillnetters to Whale Watching Charters to Custom Yacht Tenders & Deep Sea Fishing Catamarans, we like to do it all when it comes to designing & building robust West Coast Style & Alaskan bound Vessels!

JOB TASKS
• Proficient in Rhino 6/7 a must (Auto-Cad & SolidWorks a plus)
• Development of CNC compatible Design/Build Packages via Rhino will be taught in a hands-on, learn as you go environment.
• Develop & Maintain 2D Fabrication Drawings to support Design, Fabrication & As-Built Documentation.
• Familiarity with & the willingness to learn Aluminum Welding Design Techniques, sheet metal forming limitations & requirements, sheet metal cutting and kit development for CNC router coding.
• Track & Ensure non-conformance is logged throughout the build to be reviewed & applied on future builds.
• Evaluation and continuous improvement of Design and Fabrication Protocols & Procedures as a valuable, contributing member of the Design/Production Engineering Team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to work up to 8 hours per day in our Design Office (primarily at computer work station)
• Walking, kneeling, crouching as required to document & support the full Build Cycle from Phase-1 Fabrication thru Launch & Sea Trial Data accumulation.
• Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs. without assistance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This Mid to Entry Level Role will work with and under the guidance & tutelage of the Engineering Manager (a former Landing School Grad - YD '06) and is primarily performed in the Design and Production Engineering Offices which are attached to the working boatyard. When in the fabrication facilities, workers will be subjected to various levels of loud noise, welding & paint fumes, tripping hazards such as, hoses, fabrication debris and sharp metal edges. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided to staff at all times & all personnel are responsible for being aware of their surroundings and to ensure that tools and equipment are properly marked and used in accordance with Safety Guidelines & Protocols.
