Position Title: Boatyard Technician
Compensation/Rate: Based on experience
Job Summary: Jonesport Shipyard is currently seeking skilled workers for seasonal, part time, and full time, permanent positions. Priority will be given to individuals with skills and experience in one or more of the following:
Familiarity with marine systems including seasonal commissioning and decommissioning
Small engines, outboard engines, diesel engines
Moving and blocking boats of various sizes
Rigging
Marine carpentry, fiberglass, paint and varnish
Marine electrical systems and electronics
Heavy equipment
Welding
Work may include but is not limited to:
Covering and uncovering
Decommissioning, recommissioning vessels
Prepping and painting bottoms
Polishing, cleaning, detailing
Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair
Haul and launch assistance, blocking
Light equipment operation and grounds maintenance
Pollution prevention monitoring
Job Requirements:
.The ideal candidate will be able to follow instructions, ask questions, and takes pride in their work. Must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. Possibility of advancement for motivated individuals. Candidates with wood and fiberglass boat repair or mechanical experience preferred, but we are willing to train promising candidates with hands-on work experience.
