Position Title: Composites Engineer
Compensation/Rate: $85,000 - $95,000 plus incentives
Position Requirements:
Degree in mechanical ,structural or composite engineering preferred.
Extensive work experience in the field would be considered..
A strong math background is desired.
The candidate will work with and develop structural calculations and composite engineering for practical applications in our facility.
Hands-on experience in a boatyard/boat-builder and boating experience is a plus.
Fiberglass experience and in particular for closed molding processes (infusion, light-resin-transfer-method, RTM for example) is also a strong plus.
Fluent in composite materials and processes.
Specifically; the material properties of cores, fiber and resins and how/why they are used in composite construction.
Additional required traits:
The ideal candidate would have hands-on experience and a first-hand working knowledge of the structural calculations for ISO, DNV or ABS.
This person should be comfortable with Microsoft WORD & EXCEL, AUTOCAD (preferably INVENTOR) and RHINO 3-D. INVENTOR and RHINO; we do provide training for but, the basic knowledge would be desirable.
The position also requires drafting drawings, interaction with supervisors, foreman and floor technicians for problem solving and working through process solutions with material suppliers
Spanish as a second language is desired but not entirely necessary.
