Position Available for Immediate Hire- Excellent Compensation
The service and installation technician at New England Bow Thruster works both in the field and at the shop generally with another tech but also independently on new installs and more involved service work. While working at New England Bow Thruster you will learn to install bow and stern thrusters along with a wide variety of other marine items. Technicians will provide excellent customer service while displaying a high level of skill and technical competency. Training is provided to obtain this level.
Do you have automotive/diesel or small engine repair and/or autobody experience? Techs with these backgrounds have had a high success rate and make the transition to our crew with ease.

Day to Day Technician Tasks
• Work with team members on bow and stern thruster installations and or service
• Fiberglass fabrication
• Electrical system installation and troubleshooting
• Hydraulic systems work
• Windlass anchoring systems installation and service
• Electronic engine control system installation and service

Experience/Skills / Knowledge
• Preferred 1 year experience in the field of automotive/autobody/diesel or small engine repair
• Marine Services
• Experience with basic hand and power tools as well as table saws and routers
• Working knowledge of AC/DC systems and multi meter use
• Ability to troubleshoot issues on multi-system platforms (IE, - electrical/hydraulic and basic mechanical)
• Excellent communication skills (including knowing when to ask for help)
• High aptitude for organization and accuracy of assigned jobs
• Ability to work independently and finish jobs in timely manor
• Desire to work with your hands in a highly technical field
• Having pride in your work
• Being bi-lingual in English & Spanish is a plus

Compensation is based on starting knowledge
Job type: full time
Pay: $19.00 -$23.00 per hour (Proven skills + experience see even higher rates.)
There is a 90-day skill evaluation/training period. At the end of this 90 days, a review will assess your learning and skills and pay rate may increase at this time
Excelling in your training or skills on or before 90 days, will also be recognized.

Schedule:
• Monday 7am start for weekly team meetings
• Monday – Friday with overtime regularly
• Weekends are rare and by request only
• Travel required

Education:
• High school or equivalent (preferred)
License/certification:
• Driver’s License (required)
• Dot medical card (must acquire during 90-day period)
• Must have clean criminal background
