Position Title: Lead Fiberglass Tech
Compensation/Rate: $70k plus base salary & a per qc pass boat bonus, relocation assistance, health insurance
Location: Lorton, Virginia
Position Summary:
Lead a crew of techs (some of which you will add) to build and repair boats. You will be organized and motivated by doing the best job you and the team under you can do. This is a hands on lead by doing job, so you will make molds, lay glass, grind, shape, spray, finish. You will enjoy challenge and variety. Composites work is divided into three areas, repair, special projects and new build. We have an unending baseline of repair from a sister company fleet of 50+ rental sailing dinghies and plenty of incidental repairs to being a servicing dealer for Yamaha and Volvo Penta. Special projects like rebuilding the A320 airplane exhibit in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum add challenge. Our new build is an exciting opportunity to be in at the start of an exciting new boat that we have both government and private orders based on our prototype. Interest in automation, work cell, 3D printing an advantage.
