Our Company
Safe Harbor Marinas’ Stratford Marina is located where shipyard activity has been the theme since the 1700s. Today it remains an active boat yard and marina and serves as homeport to a variety of recreational yachts. Located a mile and a half up the Housatonic River, the Marina is completely sheltered from inclement weather and is Stratford’s premier vessel storage, service, maintenance and fuel facility. Our vision is to take all the hassle out of the boating experience and make boating simple.

The Role
We currently have a Marine Technician position available within our premier marine facility in Stratford, Connecticut. The successful candidate will join a team of experienced and professional technicians in a modern and fast paced facility. As part of this lifestyle role you will be required first and foremost to be dedicated to providing our customers with the best experience possible. As a Marine Technician you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing our client’s vessels up to 80 feet.

To be successful in this role it is expected that you will have at least 3 – 5 years’ experience in working with modern marine systems and have an unparalleled ability to troubleshoot and repair both inboard and outboard gasoline and diesel engines. It is also essential that you have basic understanding of both AC and DC electrical systems, the ability to carry a group 31 battery up a ladder independently and have your own tools. 

Advantageous to this role would also be the following:
o Customer service experience
o ABYC, and manufacturer certifications an advantage
o Ability to operate a crane and forklift
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills
o Demonstrated ability to prioritise and work unsupervised
o Positive attitude and willing to learn new things
