Our Company
Safe Harbor Marinas’ Stratford Marina is located where shipyard activity has been the theme since the 1700s. Today it remains an active boat yard and marina and serves as homeport to a variety of recreational yachts. Located a mile and a half up the Housatonic River, the Marina is completely sheltered from inclement weather and is Stratford’s premier vessel storage, service, maintenance and fuel facility. Our vision is to take all the hassle out of the boating experience and make boating simple.

The Role
We currently have a Marine Technician position available within our premier marine facility in Stratford, Connecticut. The successful candidate will join a team of experienced and professional technicians in a modern and fast paced facility. As part of this lifestyle role you will be required first and foremost to be dedicated to providing our customers with the best experience possible. As a Marine Technician you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing our client’s vessels up to 80 feet.

To be successful in this role it is expected that you will have at least 3 – 5 years’ experience in working with modern marine systems and have an unparalleled ability to troubleshoot and repair both inboard and outboard gasoline and diesel engines. It is also essential that you have basic understanding of both AC and DC electrical systems, the ability to carry a group 31 battery up a ladder independently and have your own tools. 

Advantageous to this role would also be the following:
o Customer service experience
o ABYC, and manufacturer certifications an advantage
o Ability to operate a crane and forklift
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills
o Demonstrated ability to prioritise and work unsupervised
o Positive attitude and willing to learn new things

Lewmar is a premier leisure marine equipment supplier that distributes products including: anchors, winch, windlass, hatch, hardware, rigging, steering, and thrusters. The Lewmar U.S. facility sells through a worldwide network of agents and distributors. We currently have an opening for a Technical Support Representative in our Guilford CT Office. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for supporting the after-sale of Lewmar products by offering exceptional customer service on all levels of technical support and displaying a patient, advisory manner throughout. This role will offer solid solutions and suggestions to all customers’ inquiries with clarity, both internally and externally. A positive attitude is required at all times.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Provide first level support to customers, resolving issues and explaining best solutions.
• Attract potential customer sales by answering product questions and suggesting information about other products and services
• Provides accurate pricing and delivery information
• Provide efficient and effective quality control and technical support to team members
• Responsible for Product Return Process and Warranty Claims
• Maintain a working knowledge of technical components of the Lewmar product line
• Make recommendations to management where and when appropriate, as part of continuous improvement
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Some travel may be required
• Perform other required duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:
• Minimum of College Degree or 5 years experience in a Technical Support role
• Exceptional Customer Service & Problem Solving skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated and excellent communication skills
• Strong attention to detail / high level of accuracy
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Boating Industry and Marine Electrical experience preferred
• Axapta experience preferred but not required
