Position Summary: LOOKING FOR A CAREER IN BOATBUILDING? Or you might go to work at a large boat factory, where they turn out several hundred units per year, where you can hone a narrow set of skills while attending to your own minor part of the production process. We are presently looking for workers in all trades and crafts, from shipwrights and carpenters to FRP techs, marine mechanics, electricians, riggers, and painters. And we are actively recruiting at all skill levels, from entry to journeyman, leads, and forepersons. With MMG, you will gain hands-on industry experience in both the more traditional aspects of boat building, as well as in the application of fully modern composite techniques, including those of advanced carbon-fiber technology. At MMG, you will also find emergent opportunities in project and supply-chain management, even marine-engineering and yacht design. Company: At MMG, our operation has a history of more than 60 years building Tartan and Legacy yachts from 26’ to 55’, both sail and power, as well as AMP carbon fiber masts and other high-tech boat parts. Location Details: Our manufacturing facility is located in the city of Painesville. The surrounding Lake County area is well known for its parks and preserves and outdoor recreational activity from sailing and boating to hunting and fishing. Nearby Cleveland affords Lake County residents access to the amenities of a larger city, such as a major international airport and all manner of educational and cultural opportunities. Lake County and the surrounding area offers several advantages to those who would like to put down roots and raise a family. The general cost of living in the area is relatively low — at 20% less than the U.S. national average — and an average cost for housing that is more than 35% lower than the national average.
