Position Summary:

Yarmouth Boat Yard, located on the Royal River in Yarmouth, Maine is seeking a year-round Marine Fiberglass/Composite Technician. The successful candidate must have a working knowledge, whether through schooling or working experience, with various coring materials, gelcoat matching and application, and will possess the ability to work cleanly and efficiently in a sometimes, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be willing to perform other tasks and work well with other experienced marine crew to provide a well-executed, quality service to our boating customers.

Responsibilities:

Effectively repair fiberglass damage, both structural and non-structural using VE and epoxy resin.
Accurately color match and effectively spray apply gelcoat to make flawless gelcoat repairs.
Patch small part components
Cut Fiberglass
Produce top-quality products with a high level of finish
Spray gel coat
Install hardware as needed
Meet deadlines
Provide excellent customer service
Other tasked as needed

Requirements:

Some technical school / college preferred
Valid Driver's License
Minimum of two years experience (school/work)
Capable of following multipart lamination schedules to build lids, hatches, swim platforms and other small parts
Reliable transportation

The Dockmaster serves as an ambassador for the marina and is typically the first/second person with whom a customer will interact. Position Summary: Riggers possess and develop a broad range of technical skills including: splicing; sail tuning; rigging for crane lifts; metal working, welding and eventually crane operation. These systems include: DC Electrical Charging & Distribution, AC Electrical, Engines, Generators, Water Makers, Navigation Electronics, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Heating, Communications and more.

Safe Harbor Great Island Systems Technicians will be trained through a combination of mentoring, ABYC courses and OEM Product Training to develop their knowledge of: maintenance procedures; installation application requirements and troubleshooting using both computer interfaces and diagnostic equipment such as multi-meters, refrigeration gauge sets, and product specific tooling.

Systems Technicians execute annual decommissioning and recommissioning procedures on the vessels stored at Safe Harbor Great Island. These procedures are IPad based and guide the technician through the process while capturing critical data for the customer.

Execute boat commissioning and decommissioning procedures.
