Maine Boat & Home Show

  • Google Calendar ICS

Produced by Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors magazine, the Maine Boat & Home Show will take place this year from Aug. 11-13 2023 on the waterfront in Rockland, Maine. The annual boat and home show shines a spotlight on boats, marine products, art, furniture, and other fine hand-made crafts, so it’s appropriate that the poster for the show, like the items on display, is a special work of art, said MBH&H Publisher Ted Ruegg. Stop by The Landing School booth!

Maiden - A documentary film about Tracy Edwards

Join The Landing School for this FREE event which is part of The Summer Evening Series! The Landing School will offer tours of the campus at 4:00pm followed by light refreshments and the film at 5:00pm.

Maiden is the story of how Tracy Edwards, a 24-year-old cook in charter boats, became the skipper of the first ever all-female crew to enter the Whitbread Round the World in 1989. Tracy’s inspirational dream was opposed on all sides: her male competitors thought an all-women crew would never make it, the chauvinistic yachting press took bets on her failure, and potential sponsors rejected her, fearing they would die at sea and generate bad publicity.
