BRANDYLEE MCCURRY
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR,
WEBHANNET RIVER BOAT YARD

Tell us about how you came to work in the marine industry?
It sounds cliché, but the truth is…I fell in love with a boat builder.

What kind of work have you done in your career?
I have an Associates Degree in Business Administration. I have done bookkeeping, property management, and tax preparation.

Tell us about the job you have today.
My job changes with the seasons. In the Spring/Fall I schedule and clean boats, paint the bottom of boats, shrink-wrap, detail, etc. I do the bookkeeping year round and take care of advertising, ordering for our retail store, and anything else we need done.

What is it that you love about the work you do?
I love that my job is diverse. I love the people I meet and the outside environment. I have the best view of the harbor every day.

What’s one piece of advice you would offer a woman who wants to pursue a career in the industry?
Be willing to learn, get dirty, and work hard!

Is there anything else you’d like to add?
If you love the ocean, the rest will follow.
