Position Title: Electric Engineer - Marine

Job Description: Electrical Engineer-Marine – Rhode Island
This full time position will report to the Engineering Manager of a Rhode Island shipyard
that specializes in the design and construction of aluminum and steel vessels up to 220
feet in length and including passenger vehicle ferries, fast commuter boats, dinner
excursion boats, passenger ferries, small cruise ships, bunkering tankers, tugs,
commercial trawlers and wind farm service vessels.
The position has electrical project responsibility for the electrical plans and drawings as well as the design and installation of electrical circuitry for seagoing commercial vessels.Requires a minimum of 5-7 years of electrical engineering experience in a maritime environment preferably in an organization that manufactures ships and /or boats for navigation in salt and/or fresh water.
The successful candidate should be well versed in electrical theory: calculating electrical loads, wire sizes, etc. In addition, a good background in the design of AC/DC panels is preferred.
The candidate must be proficient in one or more CAD platforms and have a good working knowledge of MS Office programs. Knowledge of applicable CFR, USCG, IEEE, ABYC and other federal regulations would be important.
