Compensation/Rate: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

MerManMarine is a high-end marine service company based in Norwalk, CT, specializing in yacht restoration, refits, custom fabrication, and performance-focused upgrades. We work primarily on pleasure yachts and race boats throughout the Northeast and are known for precision craftsmanship and technical excellence.
We are expanding our capabilities and seeking an experienced Marine Woodworker to join our team.
Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented marine woodworker with strong experience in yacht interiors, structural marine joinery, and exterior brightwork. The ideal candidate understands the unique challenges of the marine environment and takes pride in producing clean, durable, high-end results.
This is not entry-level. We are looking for someone who can work independently, problem-solve on the fly, and contribute meaningfully to complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
Custom marine cabinetry and interior joinery
Teak and hardwood fabrication and installation
Bulkhead, sole, and trim replacement/repair
Structural wood components in composite environments
Template creation and precision fitting in confined spaces
Exterior brightwork repair and refinishing
Working closely with rigging, composites, paint, and systems teams
Maintaining high shop and onboard safety standards
Required Qualifications
5+ years professional woodworking experience (marine preferred)
Strong understanding of marine materials (teak, mahogany, marine plywood, laminates, veneers, epoxy systems)
Experience working aboard yachts in tight and complex spaces
Ability to read plans and create accurate templates
Skilled with both shop tools and portable onboard tools
Strong attention to detail and finish quality
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with yacht refits or high-end custom builds
Familiarity with epoxy laminating and composite integration
Varnish and brightwork finishing experience
Ability to interact professionally with yacht owners and captains
