Position Title:  Systems and Engines Mechanic for New Boat Builds

Compensation/Rate:  $35/hr

Job description:  Job description:  As a Systems and Engines Mechanic, you will be responsible for the installation, integration, and testing of propulsion systems, onboard mechanical systems, and vessel functionality. This includes engines, wiring, plumbing, fuel systems, hydraulics, and more. You will work closely with the design and build teams to ensure each vessel is delivered to the highest performance and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Install inboard and outboard engines, generators, and related mechanical systems.
- Run and terminate electrical wiring for engines, navigation systems, and onboard systems.
- Install plumbing systems including fresh water, gray/black water, fuel lines, bilge systems, and HVAC where applicable.
- Perform functional testing and troubleshooting of all onboard systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, installation manuals, and technical drawings.
- Ensure all systems meet marine safety standards and company quality benchmarks.
- Collaborate with other departments (carpentry, fiberglass, electrical) during boat builds.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a marine mechanic, systems installer, or similar role in boat/yacht building.
- Strong understanding of marine propulsion systems (gasoline and diesel), plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with ABYC standards (preferred but not required).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be detail-oriented with a focus on quality and craftsmanship.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- ABYC or NMEA certifications.
- Experience with hydraulic systems.
- Experience with modern yacht technologies (e.g. joystick controls, digital switching).
- Forklift or crane operation certification (if relevant).
