General Summary:

Marine Fit-out Mangers are specialist technical professionals who help design, develop, build, install, inspect, and maintain the fit-out parts to include engines, pumps and other pieces of technical equipment that make boats and other maritime vessels function effectively. This role will work on variations of vessels, from ferries, USV to military vessels ranging from 90 feet to 30 feet in length. In this role, you will oversee the research, design and construction of marine vessels, infrastructure, and equipment. You will also conduct tests to inform the maintenance and repair of marine vehicles.

Marine Fit-Out Manager Responsibilities:

• Manage of fit-out including mechanical, systems, electrical, electronic and interior and process using subcontractors and internal staff and directive from the Production Manager
• Help develop a project plan and ensure the necessary resources are organized to meet the plan
• Conduct research and tests to inform the design and construction of marine vessels and components are fully capable
• Prepare technical reports such as research, systems diagnostics, and design analysis documentation.
• Ensure that the project resources, i.e. staff, labor, plant, materials and subcontractors, are effectively managed
• Present layout and engineering designs to clients and team members for analysis and feedback.
• Attend meetings and surveys with client representatives in locations around the world.
• Supervise all aspects of the design process for structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Ensure that a high standard of safety is maintained throughout the project and that all relevant environmental and health & safety regulations and procedures are adhered to.

• Oversee the construction of marine vessels and equipment to ensure their quality and integrity.
• Perform quality control inspections and tests on all systems and equipment and installing upgrades, as needed.
• Ensure adherence to safety precautions and project timelines.
• Train and supervise engineering teams including designers, mechanics, and production staff.
• Work with current subcontractors and vendors to maintain timely arrival and installation of materials.
• Identify new sub-contractors and vendors as needed.
• Ensure contractual conditions are adhered to and the contractual position is not compromised.
• Supervise, and perform if needed, maintenance on marine vehicles and equipment.
• Investigate and diagnosing technical issues and implement effective repairs.
• Assist with creation of new or amended processes, procedures and protocols to ensure product manufacturing is seamless

Requirements:  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
• Bachelor's degree in marine engineering, operations or systems administration preferred
• A minimum of five years' experience as a marine fit-out manager or similar
• Program or Project Management certificate preferred
• Sound knowledge of maritime software such as HMI and PLC control systems.
• Familiarity with maritime HM&E systems and naval construction processes.

Job Overview
Position Summary
Engineers are responsible for the regular safety and facility inspection, maintenance and repair of our venues. They play an integral part of maintaining venues for safe and efficient daily operations and exceptional appearance. Our team is responsible for everything from historic vessel maintenance, to restaurant equipment and facilities operations, to completing the finishing touches and bringing our new venues to existence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performing regular maintenance and safety checks around both landbased venues and on water vessels including proper functioning of restaurant equipment, refrigeration, plumbing systems (including, hot water, pumps, toilets, sinks, etc.), electrical, and facilities repairs
Basic carpentry skills for repairs and small build out projects
Painting, sealing, finishing, etc of buildings, boats, restaurant fixtures and furniture
Basic small engine and small outboard engine maintenance
Cleaning, including seasonal cleanup, regular system preventive maintenance, and pressure washing
Fulfilling work orders, identifying and sourcing necessary parts for repairs and communicating status of repairs with the management and operations teams
Availability to work evenings and 1-2 weekend rotations per month


 Requirements  

3+ years of trade experience or all around maintenance/ handyman experience
Experience with boat handling and knowledge of nautical terminology (Captains License a plus)
Significant experience in the operation, construction, and/or management of facilities, restaurants, vessels and small craft.

Qualifications:

Holds a standard driver’s license.
- Owns and knows how to use a boatbuilder’s / shipwright’s hand tool kit. Can sharpen edge tools and drill bits.
- Physical ability to work outdoors year- round in cold and wet weather. Ability to safely lift 60 lbs. Comfort with working from elevated OSHA approved staging platforms, floats, and Man-lifts.

- Demonstrates and practices advanced visual spatial skills and basic ship joinery skills.
- Can effectively create accurate patterns to pick up shape, lift bevels and choose an appropriate piece of timber stock for the task at hand. Has the ability to layout this information onto the stock.
- Can properly and safely operate and maintain a chain saw.
- Demonstrates the ability to fair by batten and/or by eye.
- Some ability to practice traditional ship caulking and willingness to learn advanced techniques.
- Has full knowledge of all the steps to hang a carvel plank on a vessel in a strong and tight manner.
- Working knowledge of producing larger and/or shaped parts through the process of glued laminations.
- Holds the ability to drive and dock a small shipyard work boat around the MSM’s waterfront and willingness to obtain a CT Safe Boaters Certificate.
